Q & A with director of The Price of Hope Caroline Karoki who discusses the genesis of her documentary.

In their own words, girls in Kimana, Kenya tell incredible stories after being rescued from female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage and share their future hopes and desires. The point of view of Dorcus and John Parit, who boldly go against tradition to rescue the girls, and commentary from local activists help to drive the story.

Q & A with director of Becoming Black Lawyers: Eva Q & A with director of Becoming Black Lawyers: Evangeline Mitchell.

From Becoming Black Lawyers: African Americans and the Law School Experience - "< 8% of all law students are black - approximately 5% of all lawyers in the United Sates identify as Black or African American"

A call was put out on social media for black lawyers willing to share their story of becoming lawyers and this documentary is a result of the answering of that call.

Having the director Evangeline Mitchell attend the festival in person and engage in an enlightening Q & A session was a memorable plus!

Ms Mitchell's directorial debut as a documentary filmmaker is pretty impressive as it was a well crafted, well told and aesthetically pleasing film that showcased black lawyers in all their excellence.

Stay tuned for more clips from our 2025 Q & A’s!
